As of October 26, Davis Falniuk, nee Iwaniuk; beloved husband, son, brother, and friend has passed away. Davis has been battling with cancer for the past year and a half, and it has been a very hard fight. He passed away peacefully in his sleep last night surrounded by family at home. For those who have been following his journey and supported us, and more importantly, Davis, through this ordeal, thank you so much for everything. He is finally getting a much-needed rest. He came into this world at 1:53 AM, and being the detail-oriented guy that he is, he decided to leave promptly at 1:53 AM. He graced us all with his presence for exactly 9,220 days. Knowing Davis, we’re sure this has some sort of obscure mathematical relevance somewhere.
As per Davis' request, please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, he would like contributions to be made towards either a bench in his honor, or as donations towards the Matt Cook Foundation or the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation. Thank you all for your support through the GoFundMe page - all extra funds will go to Oneball to support other testicular cancer patients like him.
Davis' blog will be maintained and updated periodically with posts that he pre-wrote, as well as, contributions from family and friends. Davis always lived and thrived in the moment and through all of his final months showed us the path of how to courageously live while facing our mortality. Davis will be sorely missed. He is loved by all and his beautiful, inspirational spirit will guide us forever.
Details regarding his celebration of life will be posted once it is arranged.
